The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Tourism Malaysia Istanbul and Singapore Airlines Türkiye has formalized a six-month joint promotional campaign that will begin in October 2026. This collaboration aims to increase destination awareness and boost the number of visitors from Türkiye by leveraging integrated marketing and promotional initiatives.

As part of the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign, this partnership has been designed to promote Malaysia as a preferred holiday destination for Turkish tourists. Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and Singapore Airlines will jointly promote Malaysia’s key tourist destinations, including Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, and Kota Kinabalu, while enhancing connectivity and travel accessibility for Turkish travelers. The campaign is expected to generate greater interest in the market and encourage more travel from Türkiye to Malaysia.

Norlizah Jahaya, Director of Tourism Malaysia Istanbul, said:
"Our collaboration with Singapore Airlines reflects our efforts to increase awareness and strengthen the visibility of Malaysia among Turkish travelers in support of Visit Malaysia 2026. Through this partnership, we look forward to welcoming more visitors from Türkiye to experience Malaysia’s vibrant cities, rich cultural heritage, pristine beaches, diverse culinary delights, and unique natural beauty."
Melvin Tan, General Manager of Singapore Airlines Türkiye, stated:
"Singapore Airlines’ partnership with Tourism Malaysia reinforces our strong commitment to the growth of Malaysia’s tourism sector, particularly within the Turkish market. Through this agreement, we will align our efforts in the Turkish market with targeted campaigns and promotional initiatives that showcase Malaysia’s rich heritage, warm hospitality, and stunning natural beauty." He emphasized that the collaboration is an exciting development for the airline.

Türkiye continues to demonstrate strong growth as an emerging source market for Malaysia. Between January and May 2026, Malaysia welcomed 25,335 visitors from Türkiye, representing a significant 65.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This impressive growth highlights the effectiveness of ongoing promotional efforts and Malaysia’s increasing appeal among Turkish travelers. Building on this positive momentum, the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia forecasts that visitor arrivals from Türkiye will continue to rise throughout the year, with the total number of visitors expected to reach 50,000 by the end of 2026.
