The winners of 2024 in "Shots from Life through Women's Eyes", Turkey's only women-only photography competition organized by Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik and followed with great interest, have been announced.
This year, in the 18th competition with the theme "About Life"; Gülseren Boz came first among 1,470 female photographers with her work "In Memory of Sarıkamış".
The 2024 results of the "Shots from Life through Women's Eyes" photography contest, traditionally held every year by Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik, have been announced. In the competition where 4 thousand 988 photographs of 1,470 female photographers were evaluated; Gülseren Boz was deemed worthy of first place with her work titled "In Memory of Sarıkamış". Nilgün Hocaoğlu won the second prize with her work "The Weaver" and Zeliha Begöz won the third prize with her work "Labirent". The winners of the honorable mention awards were Elif Canarslan with her photograph "Kaos", Gülçimen Okumuş with her photograph "Five Can", and Saadet Banu Nazikcan with her photograph "From Wood to Coal".
The winner of the competition received a prize of 15 thousand TL, the second prize of 12 thousand 500 TL, and the third prize of 10 thousand TL. While each of the 3 works that were deemed worthy of an honorable mention was awarded with 4 thousand TL, the owners of 38 works that were eligible to be exhibited were given a cash prize of 1000 TL.
Since 2007, more than 28 thousand female photographers have participated in the "Shots from Life through Women's Eyes" competition, which has been held uninterruptedly for 18 years under the consultancy of the Turkish Federation of Photographic Arts (TFSF), with more than 107 thousand photographs. "Shots from Life Through Women's Eyes", which attracts more attention every year as Turkey's only women-only photography competition, stands out as an exemplary corporate social responsibility project in terms of contributing to the socio-cultural and social development of women. Through the competition, women have the opportunity to express themselves in the best way by freely reflecting their perspectives on life in photographs.
