The new issue of Pirelli's now legendary and eagerly awaited calendar every year will be shot by German photographer Peter Lindbergh, whose photographs are indelible and known for his cinematic images.
The photo shoots for the 44th Issue of the Pirelli Calendar will be carried out by German photographer Peter Lindbergh, who made sharp changes in fashion photography and differentiated himself from other photographers with his idealization of women. Lindbergh likes to draw attention to the authentic and natural beauty of the women he photographs, preferring faces with almost no make-up.
Peter Lindbergh, who was also the photographer of the Pirelli Calendar in 1996 and 2002, is known for his narrative fashion series as well as his simple and clear portraits, still lifes, early German cinema and the strong influences of the industrial zones of his childhood, dances and cabarets, landscapes and space photographs.
Working with the most respected fashion brands and magazines such as Vogue, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar US, Wall Street Journal Magazine, The Face, Visionaire, Interview and W., Lindbergh's works are exhibited in many fine arts museums and galleries.
The 2016 Pirelli Calendar was shot by Annie Leibovitz, who also shot the Pirelli Calendar in 2000, which featured choreographer Mark Morris' dancers. The calendar featured 13 women of different ages, with different educations and careers, who have achieved high levels of success in professional, social, cultural, sports and artistic fields.
