Statement from Zoom Imports on Allegations that Olympus Will Withdraw from the Photography Market

The Olympus brand has started negotiations to transfer its Cameras and Imaging department to the Japanese "JIP - Japan Industrial Partners" Investment Fund.

Negotiations involving the transfer of Olympus Cameras department, R&D, Service department and factory employees are expected to be concluded by the end of 2020.

JIP Investment Fund, which owns many brands, especially Sony Vaio; It continues its efforts to expand its market share in Japan and America to Europe. As Olympus (Zoom Import), we are happy to be an important part of this growth.

We believe that with the investments and developments to be made by the JIP Investment Fund, Olympus, which has been an indispensable brand in the photography industry for more than 100 years, will be brought to a brand new era by giving it the flexibility of a start-up company, and the brand will adapt to developing technologies and trends more quickly.

While we hope that the decision taken as a result of JIP Investment Fund's trust in the Olympus brand will be beneficial for the entire Olympus Family, in this period when photography market conditions have become difficult, we will continue to announce our new cameras and lenses in 2020.
