Leica is now in Türkiye with Doğuş Group

Doğuş Group brought Leica, the world-famous camera manufacturer that brings together technology and art, to Istanbul with the campus it opened in Bomontiada.

Doğuş Group, which makes significant contributions to the development of culture and art, has made an important collaboration with Leica Camera AG, one of the most important representatives of visual history for more than 100 years. Within the scope of this collaboration, Leica moved the Leica campus, which includes stores, galleries and academy, to Istanbul. Doğuş Group, which brings together the traces of the history of photography revolutionized by Leica since the 20th century, with photography enthusiasts at Bomontiada, the cultural campus created by the re-functioning of the Historical Beer Factory, aims to contribute to the development of photography art and artists in Turkey with this investment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Leica Camera AG CEO Oliver Kaltner said, "In addition to being one of the most exciting cities in the world, Istanbul also has deep cultural ties between tradition and modernity. We are very excited to open a new page in the future of our brand by bringing the Leica heritage to this city. Our strong partnership with Doğuş Group, which formed the basis of opening the first Leica store and Leica gallery in Istanbul, will ultimately strengthen our position in Türkiye while achieving global growth." It will also support our strategy.” he said. Speaking at the opening meeting of Leica Istanbul Campus, Doğuş Group CEO Hüsnü Akhan stated that, as Doğuş Group, they made the second largest investment in the art of photography in Turkey with the Leica Istanbul Campus. Akhan gave the following information: "As it is known, in the past months, we shared the news that we have laid the foundations of the international museum to be opened in Turkey by the famous photographer Ara Güler, one of the leading users of Leica. With this collaboration with Leica, we make another contribution to the preservation of the past of Turkish photography history and the training of photographers of the future. Leica Istanbul Campus not only provides photography enthusiasts with direct access to Leica machines and accessories, but also provides both technical and technical aspects of the practice of photography with international quality exhibitions and seminar programs." “It will play a unique role in its artistic understanding.”

In the Leica Campus, which is built on an area of 1000 square meters in Bomontiada, Istanbul's new route in the field of culture and arts, in addition to the store where Leica products will be offered for sale, many firsts that will pioneer the development of the art of photography in Turkey will be implemented. Leica, which will offer photography lovers an integrated service from purchasing to experience, from training to exhibition space, will also offer opportunities for beginners, amateurs and photography professionals to come together, as well as the brand's enthusiasts.
