İFSAK 30th Short Film Festival Begins

IFSAK Short Film Festival, which will be held for the 30th time this year, will take place between 11-17 March 2024 in IFSAK Halls and French Cultural Center Hall (Taksim).

During the festival, which includes national and international sections, 99 films from 34 different countries will meet the audience.

In addition to the "From Short to Long" interviews, where director Nehir TUNA will be the guest, and "In Memoriam", where the valuable cinema writer Sungu Çapan, who passed away last year, will be held at the festival, the "İFSAK Cinema Labor Award" will also find its winner. This year's winner of the award is Çetin TUNCA, who worked as a cinematographer in more than 120 films, including unforgettable films such as Selvi Boylum Al Yürüm, Hayallerim Aşkım and Sen, and won the golden orange twice in the best cinematography category. Tunca will be presented with the award at a ceremony on Saturday, March 16.

National Section The national section of the festival consists of 42 films that passed the preliminary selection in the IFSAK 44th Short Film and Documentary Competition. 312 films participating in the competition in the categories of Fiction, Documentary, Animation and Experimental were evaluated by the preliminary jury consisting of academician, director and cinema writer Bahar KILIÇ ADİLÇE, director Deniz TORTUM and İFSAK cinema unit member Gönül GÖZEN. The 42 films that passed the pre-selection will be evaluated by the selection committee consisting of director, producer and academician Ethem ÖZGÜVEN, director, producer Zeynep ÜNAL and director Ziya DEMİREL, and the best films in their categories will be determined.

The results of the competition will be announced at the award ceremony to be held at the French Cultural Center on Saturday, March 16, 2024. The award-winning films can be watched collectively at IFSAK on March 17, 2024, the last day of the festival.

At the Masterclass event, which we will organize for the second time this year, short film and documentary director and writer Rıza Kıraç will meet with moviegoers with a sample lesson on screenwriting. This event will be held on Saturday, March 16, between 14:00-15:30 at the French Cultural Center. All events at the festival can be watched free of charge.
