Canon has developed the RF-S 7.8mm F4 STM DUAL lens for the popular EOS R7 camera. This new lens allows users to relive the most precious moments of their lives on Apple Vision Pro by recording them in three-dimensional video format.
Canon, the first camera manufacturer to offer a dedicated, interchangeable lens that allows professional users to shoot stunning three-dimensional videos, plans to launch the new DUAL lens, the latest member of the EOS VR System, later this year.
The new RF-S 7.8mm F4 STM DUAL lens allows recording magnificent three-dimensional videos even in the most challenging lighting conditions. It also converts videos shot with the EOS VR Utility application into a format that can be watched on Apple Vision Pro.
Offering a field angle similar to a human's field of view, the RF-S 7.8mm F4 STM DUAL lens allows videographers to capture unforgettable moments naturally. In addition, the lens's high-speed autofocus mechanism enables users of all levels to shoot wonderful three-dimensional videos.
In 2021, Canon launched the EOS VR System for immersive and Virtual Reality (VR) video shooting, meeting video production needs in different fields such as entertainment, tourism and education. Equipped with dual lenses, the EOS VR System uses left and right lenses to produce stunningly beautiful content with extraordinary depth and size. To speed up the video production workflow, the light entering through the respective lenses is recorded on a single CMOS sensor; This eliminates the need for adjusting the camera position before shooting, synchronizing, or compositing images after shooting.
The RF-S 7.8mm F4 STM DUAL lens stands out as the latest example of Canon's efforts to meet the creative needs of professional users who seek to produce eye-catching and impressive videos while exploring new ways of storytelling.
